A longstanding feature of the South Dakota State Capitol is the “First Lady Gown Collection.” The collection, which features a doll-sized replica of each first lady’s inaugural gown, was created by the South Dakota Federation of Republican Women and it was refreshed for the state’s 125th anniversary in 2014.
Earlier this year, Kristi Noem was sworn in as the state’s first female governor, and her husband, Bryon, became South Dakota’s first “first gentleman.” On December 3, Governor Noem will deliver her annual budget address at the State Capitol. Earlier that day, Bryon Noem’s addition to the display – a tuxedo – will be added to the collection.
